Our Mission:

The Polk County Conservation Board’s mission is to provide the citizens of Polk County with quality outdoor recreation, conservation education, and long term protection of Polk County’s natural heritage.

Closed due to flooding: Jester Park Camp Areas #2 #3 & #6, Jester Park Boat Ramp, Chichaqua Bottoms Greenbelt Electric Campground, Yellow Banks Park boat ramp, Mally’s Weh Weh Neh Kee Park, and the Trestle to Trestle Trail. If you are unsure about the status of a park or facility, please contact Polk County Conservation at 515-323-5300. Please use good judgment around flood waters and be safe!

Protect Yourself Against Mosquitoes

Yellow Banks Park Campground #1 will be under construction from June 7th through mid-July. Some sites will remain open, but noise and construction traffic will increase during this time. Please be patient while these improvements are taking place.
