Our Mission:

The Polk County Conservation Board's mission is to provide the citizens of Polk County with quality outdoor recreation, conservation education, and long term protection of Polk County's natural heritage.
Park and Trail Closure Information:

Wet weather conditions have delayed completion of the Great Western Trail. Pending dry weather, construction should wrap up during the week of November 17, 2008.

A trail ride was scheduled on the Great Western Trail for Saturday, November 15th. Polk County Conservation staff will open the trail gates for this ride. However, we do caution riders/users of slick spots and uneven surfaces. Certain construction areas may require riders to dismount their bicycles.

We continue to thank you for your patience as trail construction comes to a close. An update will be posted early next week when construction is officially complete.

Park shower houses and water will be turned off the week of 10/20!
