General Information About our Program

Polk County Conservation Board offers nature programming for preschools, elementary, middle, and high schools, church groups, scout groups, civic groups, etc. Naturalists will come to your site to provide programming or meet your group at a Polk County park. Most programs are hands-on and interactive.

Scheduling a Program
Polk County Conservation Board has three full-time naturalists and two part-time naturalists. Our schedule fills up quickly in the fall and spring, so the earlier you call the better. However, we ask that you call at least one week in advance prior to your preferred program time. Contact Patrice Petersen-Keys at (515) 323-5300 or Patrice.Petersen-Keys@polkcountyiowa.gov<.

Program Fees
Programs offered to childcare facilities will have a fee of $1/child or $25 minimum charge. All other programs are offered free of charge, however donations are welcome.
